Basic Chai is one of the most popular of current trending foods in the world. It is enjoyed by millions daily. It’s easy, it’s fast, it tastes delicious. They are fine and they look wonderful. Basic Chai is something that I have loved my whole life.
To begin with this particular recipe, we have to prepare a few ingredients. You can cook basic chai using 5 ingredients and 10 steps. Here is how you cook it.
The ingredients needed to make Basic Chai:
- Get Black tea
- Take Ginger
- Get Green cardamom
- Get Milk
- Make ready Sugar
Instructions to make Basic Chai:
- Boil water in a pot. I prefer to use non-stick.
- Bruise your ginger in a mortal & pestle.
- Bruise your cardamom pods until the seeds are revealed. I use 5-6 pods.
- Dump & boil for 3-4 mins or your desired spice-level. I like the tingling effect from the ginger, so sometimes I’ll steep this a bit longer.
- Add in the tea! I use this brand; a very popular brand for chai in Britain. Boil for 1-2 mins. Remove.
- Pour in the milk. I used 1/2 cup whole milk.
- While still boiling at high heat, let this rise and fall 3 times. I don’t know why they did this specifically for 3 times - I guess to froth up the milk? Anyone know why?? Idk. I just kept the tradition.
- Here’s a trick I use: once it reaches the top of the pot, blow on it and it will fall to the bottom. Alternatively, you can turn down the heat, then turn back up.
- Strain
- Enjoy with a spoon full of sugar :)
