The ingredients needed to make Masala chai

Masala Tea:

  1. Get –7 green cardamom pods
  2. Make ready –4 whole cloves
  3. Get star anise (optional)
  4. Get peppercorns (optional)
  5. Get water
  6. Take –3 slices ginger (with skin)
  7. Take cinnamon stick- split lengthwise
  8. Get –2 Tbsp loose leaf black tea, (or 1–2 tea bags)
  9. Get milk of your choice- almond, oat, soy,, or organic whole milk (I made this tea with full fat milk)
  10. Take Sugar
Instructions to make Masala chai

Masala Tea:

  1. Lightly crush cardamom, cloves, star anise and peppercorns, and place in a small pot with 1 1/2 cup of water. Add ginger, cinnamon and black tea. Muddle the ginger a bit right in the pot.
  2. Bring to a boil. Turn off heat and let seep 10 minutes…. or for several hours. The longer, the more flavor. - Add milk & sugar. Bring to a simmer once more, turn off the heat. - Strain into a glass / mug - Enjoy !
  3. ✅NOTES : - You can also make this richer and thicker by using more milk and less water, or even all milk, simmering spices directly in the milk
